Back in 1997, Frans Saat & Marja Verroen were on the forefront of sustainable entrepreneurship by starting the first organic lunchroom in Rotterdam. In 2005 this lunchroom became Spirit and is now run by the second generation: Daniël en Roosmarijn Saat. Every day Spirit’s young and committed team prepare over 50 different dishes using exclusively organic, vegetarian and seasonal ingredients.
SOUS (KITCHEN) CHEF

Then we’re looking for you!
As a sous chef, you’re an enthusiastic individual who doesn’t shy away from hard work. You know how to make a difference through the way you work and manage people. Under the guidance of the chef/owner, you’ll be responsible for the entire kitchen, the team, and everything we serve on our buffet. You’re creative and enjoy inventing new dishes and efficient working methods. You’ll be responsible for purchasing, inventory, and MEP (Mechanical Equipment and Processing). You enjoy working with the team in a clean environment and ensuring compliance with HACCP regulations. Attention to detail is essential. You lead the team clearly and positively and are able to maintain a calm atmosphere.

This is who you are
• You have demonstrable leadership experience as a Sous Chef.
• You love the commercial kitchen and have a keen eye for detail.
• You enjoy working in a team.
• You are a cheerful, hard worker who enjoys serving a delicious buffet with a team. • You hold a First Aid, Instructor, and Social Hygiene diploma (or are willing to obtain these as soon as possible).

SELF-EMPLOYED CHEF
You have experience working in a kitchen. You’re not afraid of hard work and have a flexible approach. You’ll work closely with the entire kitchen team and be jointly responsible for creating a place for both the cold and hot dishes for the buffet. At Spirit, all dishes are prepared in-house, fresh, artisanal, and 100% organic and vegetarian.
DISHWASHER
As a dishwasher, you’ll make the dishes, glassware, cutlery, and kitchen utensils shine like new. Great! You sort the dishes and know exactly where everything is. As a dishwasher, you’ll notice every stain. You have an eye for detail. You’re energetic, know how to get things done, and of course, you’re a finisher!
